Versions and projects · Chapter 16
Projects
A project is an app, a product, a campaign or a flyer of a client. It stands on a version of the client and may have colours, fonts or logos of its own. Above all it stays on its version, so that a reprint looks like the original.
Creating a project
In the tab Projects of the client's page, click New project.
- Project name: such as Website relaunch. Within one client each name is unique.
- Builds on: a version of the client; the one that applies is preset.
At first the project takes everything. What should be its own, you set in its draft. A client holds at most 300 projects. Each project has a page of its own with its own versions, its own time line, its own public pages and its own export.
Where each part comes from
In a project's draft, a choice stands above each tab. It applies per part: colours, fonts, logos, sizes, rules, examples and dark mode.
| Choice | Means |
|---|---|
| as Morgenrot Bakery | exactly as the client has it; changed there |
| as Morgenrot Bakery, plus its own | everything from the client, plus what only the project has; the same name replaces |
| its own | only in the project |
“The same name replaces” means: a colour or size of the same name, a font of the same family replaces the client's. Rules are only added. The dark mode has no “plus its own”. On the project's page, colours carry the badges inherited, replaced in the project or project only. In the draft, what is inherited follows the client; publishing freezes it.
Moving to a newer version
When the client gets a new version, the project stays where it is. Its card then carries the badge “on 2022”, and its page says: “2026 is newer; inherited parts look as in the older version until somebody moves the project.”
- Move to 2026
The button shows how what the project takes from the client changes. What the project sets itself stays.
- Decide
Leave on 2022 changes nothing. Draft on 2026 creates a new draft that you check and publish.
Renaming and deleting
On the project's page, Rename changes name and Note. Delete project removes the project; the client's versions stay. If a project stands on a draft of the client, that draft cannot be deleted until the project has been moved.
Pavo saysA draft for a project is made in the app only. A token writes drafts for the client, not for its projects.
