For developers · Chapter 26
Your own AI service
nexbrand needs no AI. Whoever has one can use it for two jobs: sorting when collecting and proposing directions in the wizard. Each account enters its own service for that and pays for its key itself.
Two locks
- The operator allows it
Under Settings, Server, Collecting and AI with Allow each account its own AI service. It is off out of the box.
- You switch it on for yourself
Under My account, tab AI, with Use AI in nexbrand. That only works once address and model are saved.
Entering a service
Four tiles for well-known services fill in the address, among them Ollama for your own machine. Any other address with the usual chat interface works just as well; nexbrand knows no providers, only address, key and model.
| Field | Means |
|---|---|
| Address | where the requests go |
| Key | entered once, then “saved, not shown again”; a service at home often needs none |
| Model | Load the models fetches the list and shows on the way whether address and key are right |
Two jobs, never free text
- Sort what was collected: when collecting with Sort with AI, the AI gives roles and names. It sees only the measured values: hex value, share, names and where they were found.
- Propose directions: in the wizard with Propose with AI, it supplies hue, font pair and reason for each direction. nexbrand works out the colours itself.
The answer has to come in a fixed form, or nexbrand discards it. A colour the AI names that was not measured is dropped. If the AI does not answer, the directions come from the key words, with a notice. Each account may make 20 requests a minute.
What went out
Under What went out, every request to your service stands word for word, for 14 days, stored encrypted and shown as text. Clear the list now deletes it at once. What the service does with the data is up to it and its conditions.
A service in your own network
Addresses in your own network are blocked until the operator allows the machine. The operator enters it under Settings, Server, Collecting and AI, at Machines in your own network an AI service may run on: one name or address per line, with a port if you like. Everything else in the network stays blocked.
Pavo saysWith Ollama on a machine at home, nothing leaves your network. Have the operator allow exactly that machine, not the whole network.
