With clients · Chapter 20
Public pages
The printer needs the CMYK values, the photographer the colours, the developer the code. None of them needs an account. A public page shows a version read only, under a link you can end at any time.
First: the switch
The operator turns public pages on under Settings, Server, Public pages with Allow public pages. It is off out of the box. While it is off, every link answers as if it had never existed, and there are no reviews either.
Creating a public page
In the tab Public pages of the client's page, click New public page. That works once there is a published version, for everyone who may write for the client.
| Field | Values |
|---|---|
| For whom | free text, such as “Printer, autumn flyer” |
| Which version | Always the current one or Fixed on 2026 |
| Valid for | 7, 30, 90 or 365 days, or no end |
| Password (empty: none) | whoever has the link needs the password as well |
Create makes the link. The list shows each page with its number of views, the mark with password, View and End the page. A client has at most 50 public pages; a project has its own.
What the page shows
At the top the logo, the client's name, “Version 2026, valid since …” and whom the page is shared for. Below come the tabs Colours, Fonts, Logos, Examples and Rules, with every value to copy. With As code, a developer without an account gets exactly the same code as in the app. At the bottom it says “provided with nexbrand”.
- The checks are always missing here; hints are for you, not for the printer.
- In-house fonts appear by name only, never as a file.
- Files are there only when the version shown names them.
- With a password, the page asks for it once per browser.
- Search engines are asked not to index the page; nexbrand tells them so with every answer.
Ending instead of changing
A public page cannot be changed afterwards. If you need another end date or another password, end it and create a new one. End the page means: the link stops working, whoever has it sees nothing there any more, and a new page gets a new link. Whoever created it and those who manage the client may end it; nexbrand clears away pages that have run out by itself.
Pavo saysWith “Always the current one” you need not send the printer a new link after a relaunch. With “Fixed on”, the printer sees exactly the version the job is for.
